“It’s almost it’s own country”: Cleetus McFarland gets 100% real on the experience of the ‘most lawless place’ Talladega

NASCAR ARCA drivers Cleetus McFarland and his ally, George Siciliano, were featured in an interview ahead of the Talladega race. During the conversation, the duo got candid about the racing experience at the 2.66-mile superspeedway, reciting the lines from the 2006 movie Talladega Nights.

McFarland faced a setback ahead of the Talladega race as he was denied entry into the top-tier NASCAR series. The decision came after the governing body wanted the YouTuber to gain more experience before competing again in the series. This shifted the 31-year-old’s mindset ahead of the upcoming ARCA race, as he wants to go all out to compete for a strong result.

During the interaction, Cleetus McFarland described Talladega Superspeedway as “almost its own country.” He further stated:

“Talladega is the most lawless place I have ever been. It’s almost its own country, and I just can’t believe how incredible it is inside the racetrack here. Like, it’s like entering a new country, and I can’t believe they don’t ask you for a passport. I’m surprised they don’t rip your sleeves off.

“The lore of Talladega is like nothing else, and it’s better than any other race track as far as having a good time goes. It’s incredible,” he added.

Cleetus McFarland and his ally George Siciliano also made a playful bet while concluding the interview, claiming whoever finishes lower or worse “should have to spend the night in the Dega jail.” The Alabama Manufactured Housing 200 is scheduled for April 25, 2026.

“Everybody wins on this”: Kenny Wallace defended Cleetus McFarland amid his O’Reilly Series debut at Rockingham

Earlier this month, former FOX Sports broadcaster Kenny Wallace defended Cleetus McFarland for his O’Reilly Series debut with RCR. McFarland received a massive backlash for jumping into the top-tier racing series with no proven experience. However, Wallace defended the ARCA driver and pointed out how it helped NASCAR.

The NACSAR YouTuber signed a two-year contract with Richard Childress Racing to compete in three races each season. McFarland will drive the #33 Chevy in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. He made his first appearance in the series at the North Carolina Education Lottery 250 held at Rockingham Speedway on April 4, 2026.

Cleetus McFarland had a slow start for the 250-lap race and began the race from P35. Following that, the #33 Chevy driver secured a 32nd place finish in his first race in the series. Reflecting on that, Kenny Wallace noted that McFarland’s run highlighted how NASCAR is different from the ARCA Series and stated:

“Cleetus qualified 35th finished 32nd. NASCAR is hard, isn’t it? Looks like it. Yeah, right. I mean, Arca, yeah, I think everybody wins a little harder than ARCA. Listen, ARCA. ARCA is a starter series, but Cletus did good. He did good. And everybody wins on this, John, and here’s why: because NASCAR proved you, but it showed everyone how hard NASCAR is.”

Cleetus McFarland further denied all the speculations about his Cup Series start in the near future. McFarland added that he wants to gain experience before competing in the top-tier racing series and fill the skill gap beforehand.
