This is an important fight, but it’s not one that you cannot overcome. If you’re struggling with Rathma’s Golem in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred, we’ll give you some tips, like attacks to look out for, and what you can do to overcome this statue come to life.
Tips to beat Rathma’s Golem in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred
After you guide all the spirits back to Rathma’s Golem in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred, you’ll have to fight a few waves of undead, before the actual boss comes to life, and you’re forced to do battle with it. These enemies aren’t really anything to write home about, so just blast through them with Warlock powers, Paladin abilities, or whatever class you’re playing.
(Fight begins at 24:14)
- Can teleport around the room.
- Can fire ghostly projectiles that float around the room that orbit the room to try and hit you.
- Summons ghosts from AOE circles that dash across the room and swing a scythe.
- Creates an AOE blast around itself at short range.
- Creates bubbly red lines of blood all over the room.
- Fires a cone of ghostly bullets.
- Conjures a crescent of ghosts in a red ground AOE that dash in a line and attack.
- Creates a ghostly circle to keep you pinned down.
Perhaps one of the most annoying things about Rathma’s Golem in Diablo 4 is that it can teleport. In addition, the second before it teleports, it’s also invulnerable, so you just have to wait for it to finish. It constantly fires ghostly blasts that slowly move around the room in circles, trying to hit you. These don’t hit hard, but they can add up.
After Rathma’s Golem teleports, it will also likely summon a trio of ghostly skeletons that swing a scythe after dashing across the room. You’ll see the circles first, with a line aiming at which way they’re going. Just stand between the lines and you’ll be just fine.

When you see a bunch of red blood circles appear on the ground and spirits rise from them, you’re going to have to watch your feet. This happens around 60% health, in our experience. Each of these creates three lines in a “Y” shape, that deal you damage if you’re standing in them.
After a few seconds, a blood wave will splash along the lines, and the damage lines will persist for a while. Rathma’s Golem can pair this with the Skeleton charging attacks too, to give you even less room to maneuver. Just stay out of the way, and keep attacking Rathma’s Golem the best you can in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred.

When under 50%, Rathma’s Golem can start firing a cone of ghostly bullets that fire quite fast. You just need to get ahead of it, and keep running. Another annoying attack at this point is the wave of ghouls. The Golem will create a crescent of bloody pools, and ghouls will rise from them, all dashing in a line to repeatedly attack. You can kill these before they get to you, or just move. They do persist, so make sure to kill them.
Rathma’s Golem will trap you in a circle close to it, when around 15-20% health, and try to smash you with a giant skeleton hand. It will track you, and create an AOE on the ground. If it hits you, it will deal an incredibly large amount of damage. In addition, the blood lines will stay on the ground, giving you less room to move. It can also summon a blob of ghostly energy to chase you around.

When at around 5% or less health, Rathma’s Golem will become unkillable in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred. It will then rip your spirit out of your body, and Lilith will tell you to get back to your body. All of your buttons increase your movement speed, so get back to your body as soon as possible. It does constantly drain your health, so you want to get back as fast as possible..
When you return to your body, you’ll be able to defeat Rathma’s Golem once and for all, and this will also net you the Shadow of the Son achievement, and more information about the fragments of Lilith’s Blade. Next up in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred’s story is In Rathma’s Footsteps!
