On July 4 and 5, Love in Sync started airing on Lifetime in South Korea. The new K-drama belongs to the rom-com genre and is centered around an actress and a psychologist whose fates get intertwined strangely in a supernatural twist, bringing them closer.
The K-drama, which is divided into eight episodes, stars Myung-So – a former member of Infinite, and Kang Min-ah – who previously starred in True Beauty. In the series, Myung-so plays Cha Eun-hwan, who is a renowned psychological counselor, and Min-ah plays Yoo Ji-an, an A-list actress.
Episode 1 of Love In Sync introduces viewers to the K-drama’s leads – Cha Eun-hwan and Yoo Ji-an. Ji-an is an actress who always walks an extra mile to attain perfection, but is bested by her rival after falling short in terms of her acting skills. Meanwhile, Cha Eun-hwan’s counseling sessions with his patients seem to be making great progress. To improve her acting skills, Ji-an is asked to see Eun-hwan for a therapy session.
In the second episode of Love in Sync, things go south for both Ji-an and Eun-hwan as the plot unravels further. As an old video of Ji-an bullying a band member goes viral on social media, all of her upcoming projects and endorsement deals are canceled, leaving her scared for her future. Meanwhile, when a patient of Eun-hwan goes on a stabbing rampage, his counseling skills are put into question, leading to a call from the police station. In the process of navigating the troubles that have befallen them, the two cross paths once again.
Below is a detailed recap of what happens in the episode 1 and 2 of Love in Sync:
What happened in Love in Sync episodes 1 and 2?
The first episode of Love in Sync opens with Yoo Ji-an preparing to attend an award ceremony – War of Flowers – where Ji-an is in the running for the “Best New Actor Award”. She complains about gaining an extra pound before getting skin shots at a clinic. Ji-an also works on her award acceptance speech, which is full of self-praise.
On the other hand, Cha Eun-hwan is sitting in a therapy session with a young boy named Young-ji. His strategy to get the patient to plan revenge works effectively in helping him get out of depression caused by being bullied. After the session ends, Eun-hwan gets invited to appear on a show called Luckies on the Block, but is uninterested. He notices a billboard with Ji-an on it, giving it a strange look before moving on.
Meanwhile, Ji-an is on her way to the award show when she learns that her rival, Han Yi-jin, will be arriving after her. Dissatisfied with it, she takes extreme measures by ramming her car into another one to stage an accident. Consequently, her arrival is delayed.
Just as Yi-jin walks the red carpet, Ji-an steals the spotlight by arriving at the same time. The two bicker in low voices while presenting a pleasant front for the media and fans.

Cha Eun-hwan is at the same restaurant where the award ceremony is being hosted, having a meal with a man who seems to be his close friend. The scene then transitions to the award show, where Yi-jin and Ji-an are both backstage.
As the two argue, Yi-jin blames Ji-an for breaking up their band – indicating that they were former bandmates. Ji-an defends herself by claiming that she was the only competent one in the group and has worked hard to reach this point.
As Yi-jin attacks her by criticizing her acting skills, the former is announced as the winner, leaving Ji-an feeling dejected after her loss. After hours of crying in bed, as she prepares a meal for her manager and the agency’s CEO, the duo is worried to tell her that her contract has ended.
Ji-an then asks them for an honest answer about her acting, and receives criticism in response. While she’s displeased at hearing this, it sends her into a flashback where her mother reprimanded her for helping others and encouraged her to be unkind, stating that it would make the world nicer to her. A young Ji-an is also seen taking acting classes, only to fail at delivering a good performance.
The scene of Love in Sync – episode 1- then shifts to another encounter between Ji-an and Yi-jin, who gloats about her victory yet again. It is later revealed that Yi-jin happens to be one of Eun-hwan’s patients, and her therapy sessions have influenced her success.
Both rival actresses are in the running for a new project from Director Moon. His assistant suggests that Ji-an meet Eun-hwan to get help with her acting. After some coaxing, the actress decides to make an appointment.
Despite agreeing reluctantly, Eun-hwan seems to be brooding over the appointment. When he sends his assistant home for the day, she warns him about an issue with the door before leaving. Ji-an arrives at Eun-hwan’s clinic reluctantly as well.

As the two begin their session, Eun-hwan starts the conversation by asking about Ji-an’s childhood and urges her to be honest. But before she can answer, he steps outside to take a call. Right at that moment, a power outage occurs, leaving Ji-an locked inside. It triggers her trauma, and she starts panicking. Realizing that, Eun-hwan breaks the door to rescue her and calms her down as the episode ends dramatically.
The second episode of Love in Sync opens with Ji-an admitted to the hospital following her panic attack. The CEO of her entertainment agency blames Eun-hwan for her condition and threatens to sue him, but Ji-an defends him. At that moment, she is strangely able to hear the psychologist’s concern for her, without him saying even a word.
The scene changes to focus on Young-ji – the former patient of Eun-hwan who has now started working as a sanitation worker. When she hears the man reprimanding her over spilled coffee, speaking about taking someone else’s money, she recalls the scam she faced and is triggered.
Meanwhile, Ji-an and the CEO visit Director Moon to speak about his next project. The CEO warns her to be on her best behavior, or she could hurt her already dwindling prospects in the industry.
As they arrive, they find Yi-jin already there, making things awkward. Director Moon initiates a conversation with Ji-an and starts ridiculing her acting skills soon. She hits back with equal fervor, calling him pretentious and adding that she has no interest in working in his movies either. This amuses the director.
On their way back, the CEO convinces Ji-an to apologize to Moon, but she’s adamant not to. He later gets a call from Ji-an’s mother to discuss contract renewal as well as some other shocking news.
The scene of Love in Sync – episode 2 – changes to Eun-hwan hearing about Young-ji’s stabbings on the news, with the reporter painting him as a perpetrator due to his unconventional counseling strategies. He is then called into the police station for questioning related to Young-ji.

On the other hand, Ji-an learns from the CEO that she’s being cast in Director Moon’s next project, which elevates her mood. When Yi-jin learns about it, she’s dejected. As her assistant tells her the luxury brand deal also fell through, Yi-jin feels worse and is worried about paying her mother’s hospital bills. Then, the scene of Love in Sync shifts to Ji-an signing the contract with Director Moon.
To help her boss, Mi-jeong decides to pull Ji-an down by writing a malicious post about Ji-an. Her post results in an old video of the actress bullying a former band member going viral online, sabotaging Ji-an’s chances of starring in Moon’s movie.
An anxious Ji-an learns that she has not only lost the film but also all of her brand endorsement deals. As the agency works towards rectifying the situation, she goes into hiding. Some days later, as she runs short on supplies, Ji-an visits a convenience store nearby, where she hears Eun-hwan’s thoughts – learning that he blames himself for Young-ji’s crimes.
It brings tears to her eyes, and when Eun-hwan asks her about it, she claims to be feeling his emotion and crying on his behalf.
The next morning, Ji-an’s contract with the agency is renewed, but with exploitative terms and reduced fees. Finding it unacceptable, she tears it up and walks away. Later that night, she gets notice to vacate her appointment.
As she hunts for a new home the following day, Ji-an realizes that she has been scammed. She heads to the police station to report it, where Eun-hwan is already present, attempting to meet Young-ji, who keeps turning him away.
As Ji-an files a report, she breaks down over how foolish she could be. Eun-hwan goes to comfort her when a woman secretly clicks their photos. Ji-an tries to get the photos back, but is unsuccessful at it. Eun-hwan manages to confiscate her phone and offers to walk Ji-an back.
Along the way, Ji-an is able to hear his thoughts. Realizing how overwhelming his concern for her is, Ji-an gets emotional, bringing the second episode of Love in Sync to an end.
Viewers can watch episodes 3 and 4 of Love in Sync on July 11 and 12.
