Much of Rangers‘ summer has been focused on incomings, with the likes of Lawrence Shankland and, most recently, Cammy Devlin, arriving. But that could be about to change, with a number of stars attracting interest from elsewhere.
Lyon’s interest in Youssef Chermiti has been well-documented, for example, and Nicolas Raskin could also still head for the exit door. Before either of those sagas unfold, however, it could be Connor Barron who departs.

Football FanCast’s Verdict |

Credibility |
There’s plenty of interest in Barron. The Rangers midfielder has just two years left on his contract and a race has erupted between Eintracht Frankfurt, Lazio and Bologna to secure his signature this summer. |
|
Finances |
It remains to be seen how much Rangers value their midfielder. The two years left on his contract could force them to sell for cheaper than their desired price, but it could also come down to whether Barron wants to leave, himself. |
|
Insight |
Barron is an interesting one. Whilst European interest shows just how talented he is, the 23-year-old was not a consistent starter in the Scottish Premiership last season and that suggests Rangers could afford to cash-in at the right price. |
|
Impact |
Barron’s exit would be bad news for Raskin more than anyone else. Rangers may not want to lose two midfielders in the same window unless they welcome one more and that would delay Raskin’s departure. |
It looks like Rangers’ transfer window is only just getting started, as the exit door potentially swings open.
European clubs express interest in signing Rangers star Barron
As reported by Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph, Frankfurt, Lazio and Bologna have expressed interest in signing Barron. The midfielder has two years left on his current deal and has plenty to think about.
It’s been a busy summer for the Gers when it comes to arrivals, but they may still need to sell if they are to fund any further incomings. Given that Barron is yet to sign a new deal and yet to become a permanent starter, an exit could yet suit all parties this summer.
Why Rangers should cash-in on Connor Barron
Selling Barron would be a ruthless decision from those at Ibrox, but it’s arguably a needed one. He’s now 23 and should be a permanent feature at the heart of Rangers’ midfield. It’s simply not worked out like that so far, though, and a hefty offer should be accepted this summer.

Although injuries have far from helped the young midfielder, Rangers will have their sights set on winning the Scottish Premiership and their recruitment suggests that they’ve got no time for sentiment.
