    Cape Verde’s Vozinha lands first commercial deal – here’s how Cristiano Ronaldo fits into it

    There were few better stories at the 2026 World Cup than Cape Verde.

    They went through the tournament unbeaten in 90 minutes, notably holding European champions Spain to a 0-0 draw and then taking World champions Argentina to extra-time.

    How did they do that? Well, with the help of the now iconic goalkeeper Vozinha. 40 years of age and without a club, he starred during that win over Spain, in particular. During that clash, the veteran stopper made a ridiculous seven saves to keep Lamine Yamal and Co at bay.

    Fresh off the back of that tournament, the Cape Verde hero has now bagged his first commercial deal.

    Currently one of the most viral sports stars in the world right now, Vozinha has partnered up with UFL on mobile, an AAA-quality football game backed by none other than Cristiano Ronaldo, who like the Cape Verde star, knows a thing or two about starring at World Cups.

    Vozinha has quickly become a global phenomenon and after growing his following on Instagram from 50,000 at the start of the tournament to over 28 million upon his nation’s exit from the World Cup, he announced his partnership with UFL on mobile to the masses on social media.

    The partnership is built to reflect UFL’s ambition to bring together vivid football stories, the biggest moments in sport, and interactive gaming experiences.

    Speaking about the link up, the goalkeeper said: “I still can’t believe everything that has happened over the last few days. It’s an incredible feeling. I’m excited to partner with UFL on mobile and to be part of a project that celebrates the moments and stories that make football special for millions of fans around the world.”

    What’s UFL all about? The mobile-based game combines AAA-quality visuals with mobile-optimised gameplay and simple controls designed for short yet immersive gaming sessions.

    Players can enjoy player vs player or player vs environment modes, as well as 4v4 multiplayer, adidas content and licensed FIFPRO footballers.

    The game features a limited-time event known as Open Tournament which allows gamers to represent different countries, progressing through tournament stages and potentially earning exclusive awards.

    Within days of expanding its soft global launch, UFL on mobile passed five million players worldwide and before being released on mobile, was already playable across PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
