On Sunday night, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Mia, was shot in the couple’s Virginia home.
Mia Bieniemy, 57, has since been hospitalized and is now in stable condition. On Sunday, Eric Bieniemy, 56, was at training camp at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri. On Monday, he left the team to be with his wife.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke on the situation following Monday’s practice. The coach said he and the team are keeping Eric and Mia Bieniemy in their thoughts.

“[Mia Bieniemy is] a saint. … One of God’s good blessings,” the coach said. “…Things happen and you have to work through it. … We all love EB… There is always a blessing in there somewhere. I know things will work out.”
