Nottingham Forest‘s determination to sign Givairo Read is showing no signs of slowing down, with the Premier League club continuing to push for one of Dutch football’s brightest young defenders.
Forest have already seen two offers rejected by Feyenoord this summer, but that has not weakened their interest.
Instead, the club have continued discussions while assessing how best to convince the Eredivisie side to part with one of their most highly-rated players.
With Oliver Glasner continuing to reshape his squad ahead of the new campaign, strengthening at right-back has become a clear priority.
Read enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough season last year.
The 20-year-old has established himself as Feyenoord’s first-choice right-back over the last two seasons, producing a series of mature performances in both domestic and European competition.

Comfortable pushing forward but equally reliable defensively, he quickly earned a reputation for his pace, energy and quality in possession.
His impressive displays also saw him captain Feyenoord during their latest pre-season friendly, highlighting the trust already placed in him despite his youth.
Read had a mixed 25/26 due to a major hamstring injury, which saw him only play 20 games in all competitions, but the quality is there.
Nottingham Forest offer Read a five-year contract to join with third bid made
According to Dutch journalist Joost Blaauwhof, Forest have now intensified their efforts once again.
Blaauwhof reports the Premier League side have ‘dug their heels in’ over the transfer and are preparing a third bid for the Dutch defender. He adds that a five-year contract is already waiting for Read should the move eventually be completed.
The latest update also follows another significant development.
Voetbal International reports Forest’s third offer is worth around £21 million after previous bids were rejected by Feyenoord. However, the Dutch club are still holding firm, believing Read is worth considerably more and remaining reluctant to lose a player who is under contract until 2029.
The report also states the defender himself is attracted by the opportunity to play in the Premier League, which leaves Forest with an important decision.
They can either improve their proposal again or turn their attention elsewhere if Feyenoord continue to resist every approach. Given the club’s persistence throughout the window, though, there is little indication they are ready to abandon talks.
From Feyenoord’s perspective, the stance is understandable.
Read has developed into one of the Eredivisie’s most exciting young defenders, and replacing him only weeks before the new season would be far from straightforward.
With a long-term contract in place, the Rotterdam club remain in complete control of negotiations. Forest, however, appear equally determined.
