Thailand vs Malaysia Prediction and Betting Tips | 1st August 2026

Thailand host Malaysia at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok on Saturday for their second group match of the 2026 ASEAN Championship. The War Elephants began their campaign with a 5-0 drubbing of Laos earlier this week as the record seven-time champions made their title intent clear on day one.

Teerasak Poeiphimai fired them in front after 11 minutes before Kakana Khamyok doubled their advantage in the 27th minute as Thailand led 2-0 at the break.

Anthony Hudson’s side continued their relentless pressing after the break and Yotsakorn Burapha added a third just four minutes into the restart before Sarach Yooyen and Kakana, again, struck apiece to further humiliate a hapless Laos side.

Having reached the finals in each of the last three ASEAN Championship editions, Thailand could be set for another deep run on this evidence, but against the high-flying Malaysia, things could be a little tougher.

The Malay Tigers have won both their group fixtures so far, coming back from an early deficit against Myanmar in their opening game to win 2-1 before a resounding 4-0 drubbing of Laos.

Tan Cheng Hoe’s side have six points in the bag from a possible six and currently lead the charge in Group B by occupying the first position.

    Thailand vs Malaysia Prediction

Thailand are on an incredible run of form and began their ASEAN campaign on a resounding note too, but Malaysia are not pushovers either, as the Malay Tigers have won both their group fixtures in the competition so far.

We expect an intense battle here between two in-form teams, one that could end all square.
