“New future leader of the Death Riders” – Fans erupt after huge star suddenly leaves WWE

A popular name has just left WWE following the expiry of their contract and is now free to sign elsewhere. Fans have reacted to the idea of them working with Jon Moxley and the Death Riders and loved the possibility.

Ilja Dragunov has now departed the Stamford-based promotion after electing not to sign a new deal with the company. Since he was not released, he is not subject to the 90-day no-compete period. Many have speculated that AEW could end up being a frontrunner to signing him.

Ibou of Self Made took to X/Twitter earlier today and brought up the idea of the Mad Dragon working with Jon Moxley in AEW. He claimed that the two will end up enjoying their time in the ring together once this finally happens.

Fans have reacted to this, and they all agreed with this take. Many discussed how Dragunov would fit either as an ally or an enemy of the Death Riders. One even claimed that the former WWE Superstar could even be a future leader of the group.

Others looked forward to them sharing the ring if Dragunov were to become All-Elite. One fan even put out the idea of him joining The Dogs instead so he could still be an ally of Moxley, while getting to work directly with the likes of Gabe Kidd.

@BackupHangman I think we found the new future leader of the death riders. Pass the torch someday.

@BackupHangman Dragunov will be a really good death rider.

@BackupHangman C2 match, please and thanks

@BackupHangman Death Riders in general. Pac vs Ilja, Claudio, that H-Bomb to Yuta through the mat be epic

@BackupHangman My literal first thought when seeing this was that he’d either be a perfect fit for Death Riders or a perfect opponent…

@BackupHangman Put ilja in death riders or the dogs. Him and Gabe as a tag team 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Kyle Fletcher has hinted at running it back with the ex-WWE Superstar

Following Ilja Dragunov’s time with WWE coming to an end, there was shock from the wrestling world. But several names immediately teased running it back with him in the ring. One of them was Kyle Fletcher.

The Protostar took to X/Twitter and posted a picture from their singles match back in 2019, hinting at potentially sharing the ring with him once more in the near future.

    “2019” Fletcher posted.

This was an unexpected development, and Dragunov is now free to begin discussions regarding his future. As early as this week, he could pop up elsewhere, whether this be the independent circuit or as the newest signing of a major wrestling promotion. Fans should stay tuned for further developments.
