It was recently reported that WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio’s daughter, Aalyah Mysterio, had already joined the Stamford-based promotion. A reporter has now provided an update on her signing with the global juggernaut.
Aalyah Mysterio was part of a WWE storyline in late 2020 involving her father Rey Mysterio during his feud with Seth Rollins. In the story, she was portrayed as having an on-screen relationship with Rollins’ then-ally Buddy Murphy, who now goes by Buddy Matthews in AEW.
Thanks for the submission!
On a recent edition of Fightful Select Answers, prominent wrestling reporter Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Aalyah Mysterio’s WWE status. He responded that Dominik Mysterio’s sister was already “signed and listed on some internal rosters.” However, he had no idea what plans the Stamford-based promotion had for her.
The 25-year-old was recently spotted alongside other young wrestling names such as Lexis King, Marie Malenko, Uriah Connors, Brooks Jensen, and Avery Styles at the Performance Center. This was soon after the discourse about next-generation stars “not paying their dues.”
At the heart of the controversy was AJ Styles‘ son Avery, who was accused of not paying his dues and taking advantage of his father’s legendary status in the business. Several prominent wrestling names, including Cody Rhodes and Nattie, also got involved.
Aalyah Mysterio reportedly signed to WWE under a different name
Another recent report by PWInsider also stated that Rey Mysterio’s daughter had already signed with World Wrestling Entertainment and is listed in the internal rosters.
Interestingly, it was further reported that the 25-year-old was not listed under the name Mysterio and will likely be known as Aalyah Gutierrez in the Stamford-based promotion.
And now, after her legendary Hall of Fame father Rey and brother Dominik Mysterio, it will be the turn of the youngest Mysterio to show what she has in her bag of tricks as she starts her journey with the global juggernaut.
