Dillon Danis reveals gruesome injury that allegedly forced him out of Mike Perry fight

In a disheartening last-minute development, Dillon Danis has pulled out of his Duel Arena 1 MMA clash against Mike Perry, scheduled for this weekend at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. Danis’ exit comes just 48 hours before the event.

Within an hour of news breaking about his withdrawal from the bout, the controversial Brazilian jiu-jitsu star revealed an injury that has seemingly forced him out.

Earlier today, ‘El Jefe’ shared an Instagram post showing a video of a deep laceration on his arm being treated by medical professionals. In the clip, the wound can be seen being disinfected and stitched closed. However, the exact nature or cause of the injury is yet to be revealed.

    In the description, Danis wrote:

Fortunately, however, the event will go on as planned, with Danis being replaced by UFC veteran Brandon Jenkins.

Jenkins holds an 18-12 professional MMA record and boasts a fan-friendly style. Aptly nicknamed ‘The Human Highlight Reel’, the 34-year-old from Minnesota holds 12 knockouts and three submission victories to his name.

He was most recently seen earning a split-decision victory over Chris Avila on the undercard of Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano in May.

Perry, also a UFC veteran, holds a 15-8 MMA record. ‘Platinum’ boasts notable wins over the likes of Nate Diaz, Paul Felder, and Alex Oliveira, among others. Following his departure from the world’s premier MMA promotion, Perry has gone undefeated in his bare-knuckle boxing career.

Mike Perry goes nuclear on Dillon Danis

It is safe to say that Mike Perry was deeply upset by Dillon Danis’ last-minute withdrawal from their Duel Arena 1 MMA clash. During Thursday’s pre-fight press conference, Perry announced ‘El Jefe’s’ withdrawal and did not hold back as he lashed out, saying:

    “This p***y a** b***h Dillon Danis didn’t show the f**k up. He’s not here. He backed the f**k out because he’s a p***y.”

Nevertheless, ‘Platinum’ guaranteed a blood-soaked slugfest for the Orlando fans, insisting that he was prepared and ready to face replacement opponent Brandon Jenkins at a higher weight:

“Shout out to my new opponent Brandon Jenkins… He’s flying here to weigh in in the morning like a professional and fight me on Saturday night. I no longer have to cut any more weight, so I’ve accepted his fight at a higher weight class… I’m still prepared to put on for the city of Orlando and spill some f**king blood in the arena. Let’s go.”
