Before we get into it, here is a look at how the table looks as the season nears the 2/3 mark.
All statistics reference regular season games only except where noted.
PLAYER STATS
-Kaleigh Kurtz has now played 135 consecutive regular season matches and 12,112 consecutive minutes. Both are league records. The streaks began June 26, 2021 while playing for the Courage. (the unrounded number is due to a rain-shortened match in 2023.)
-Debuts: Two players made NWSL debuts last week, both for the Spirit. Melissa Bethi played the second half on Sunday and Monique Ngock entered in the 69th minute. Bethi, 20, is a French-born, Algerian international and became the first player to appear in an NWSL match representing the latter. Ngock, who will turn 22 later this month, holds the same distinction for Cameroon.
-Seb Hines was let go by the Pride Monday after amassing a 50-40-21. He is one of six coaches with 50 NWSL wins. The others are: Laura Harvey, Vlatko Andonovski, Mark Parsons, Paul Riley and Rory Dames. Gotham coach Juan Carlos Amorós has 49. He is on paternity leave and has not been officially credited with the club’s last four wins.
-Yolanda Thomas is the 81st person to be head coach of an NWSL team, interim or otherwise. That includes Amy LePeilbet and Craig Harrington, neither of whom coached a regular season game in brief spells with the old Utah Royals in 2020.
-Cloé Lacasse’s assist on Paige Cronin’s goal on Saturday was her 10th of the season. That ties the single-season record set by Tobin Heath in 2016 and matched by Croix Bethune in 2024.
-The 10/10 watch continues. No player has ever scored 10 goals and added 10 assists in the same NWSL season. Lacasse is currently the closest with 7 goals to go along with her 10 assists. Pietra Tordin has 7 goals and 9 assists. Trinity Rodman has 10 goals and 5 assists. And Emma Sears has entered the discussion with 7 goals and 5 assists.
-Kailen Sheridan is the first goalkeeper with two NWSL assists. She is also the first keeper to have an assist and keep a clean sheet in the same match.
-Ashley Sanchez had back-to-back braces last weekend and Wednesday, and leads the Golden Boot race with 25 goals. Barbra Banda is next with 13. Three other players sit on double digits — Sophia Wilson and Evelyn Ijeh have 11; Trinity Rodman and Trinity Byars have 10 each.
TEAM STATS
-Kate Del Fava remains minute-perfect for the Royals having played all 6,660 over 74 games since the team launched in 2024. Those are the longest streaks from the start of any expansion team.
-Gotham’s draw with the Thorns on Friday was the club’s 10th straight match without losing. That set a club record for longest unbeaten run. They were the only NWSL original not to have attained such a streak. Other clubs who have not are the Dash (founded 2014, longest unbeaten run, 6); Louisville (2021, 6); Angel City (2022, 8); Wave (2022, 6); Bay FC (2024, 4); and this year’s expansion sides.
-The six goals scored by the Summit on Saturday against the Stars was the first time any NWSL club has scored as many as six in a match during its first season in the league. That includes all eight founding clubs in 2013.
-Yolanda Thomas will become the seventh coach of record for the Orlando Pride. The next full-time head coach will be the fifth, joining Tom Sermanni, Marc Skinner, Amanda Cromwell and Hines. The two other interims were Carl Green and Becky Burleigh.
-Angel City’s loss in North Carolina midweek was the club’s 50th regular season loss. After beating the Legacy on Monday, the club’s all-time mark is 38-50-29.
-The Current’s win over the weekend was their 50th home win across all competitions. That does not include the 2024 Summer Cup semifinal at CPKC Stadium which is officially a neutral-site match.
