Trial of the Bastion is a new limited-time event in Genshin Impact 7.0, which will be available till September 17, 2026. This is a stronghold defense event, wherein players are required to deploy various mechanisms on the field to guard their base.
Since the Trial of the Bastion event features Genshin Impact’s newly introduced TPS (third-person shooter) gameplay, you will also be able to use your firearms for defensive purposes in this event.
Participating in this event will reward you with valuable in-game currency such as Primogems, Weapon ascension materials, Mystic Enhancement Ores, Mora, and more.

Guide for Trial of the Bastion event in Genshin Impact
In order to unlock the full Trial of the Bastion event, you will first need to play the quest “A Grueling Combat Simulation”, which can be accessed either from the World Quests tab or the event page itself.
The quest will give you a brief introduction to the event, following which the event stages will be available for you to play.
Trial of the Bastion event gameplay
The Trial of the Bastion event takes place in the Shadow Realm, allowing you access to your firearms while playing through the event stages. As mentioned, you will need to defend your stronghold in this event, via both offensive and defensive tactics.
There are a total of six stages in this event, with one stage being unlocked each day after server reset. Different stages take place in different areas, and have their own mechanisms and enemy line-ups.
In the preparation phase, you will need to deploy mechanisms on the field to ensure that your base remains protected. Depending on the route that the enemies will take, you will need to select appropriate mechanisms that will be the most useful.
In the combat phase, you can use your firearms and tactical gear to defeat incoming enemies. Your loadout will be similar to that of a typical Shadow Realm combat scenario, and you can switch between firearm elements as and when required.
There will also be ammo crates placed on the field, and you can quickly pick up ammo from them if you run out.
