Legacy show every run matters – Equalizer Soccer

Just when it looked like the Legacy may never win another game, they marched into Utah’s America First Field and upset the Royals, 2-1. They opened with a fluke goal before conceding from a keeper assist. It all set up for a late winner that we’re going to review for one specific reason: Every run matters in soccer.

Here is where the Legacy won the ball ahead of the goal. The Legacy player is Nicki Hernandez. She stuck with the play instead of assuming the ball would roll out of play, and as you can see, even if the Royals maintained possession here, there are no Royals players around to do much with it. Meanwhile, three Legacy players are in the vicinity. Hernandez left it for Barbara Olivieri and then drifted upfield.
