Caitlin Clark gets ultimate stamp of approval from WNBA legend

Fresh off helping Team USA win gold in the FIBA World Cup, Caitlin Clark will return to the court for the Indiana Fever.

Stephanie White’s team is sitting in fifth place in the WNBA, trailing the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx by just five games with a handful of games left to play. With a playoff berth secured and playing for postseason seeding, Clark and the Fever will look to honor their status as a preseason championship favorite.

For what it’s worth, they already have Lauren Jackson’s support. In a chat with fellow WNBA legend Sue Bird for her podcast, Jackson gave Clark and the Fever the nod to win the whole thing this season.

Lauren Jackson is a Caitlin Clark fan

“I actually want Indiana to win, believe it or not,” Jackson said. “I love watching, and I’ve said this before, I love watching Caitlin Clark. Like, I love the way that she plays. When she gets hot, she is just, it’s epically awesome to watch. I love Kelsey Mitchell. I love the way that she plays.”

As polarizing as Clark is, there’s no denying that she’s established herself as one of the leading MVP candidates. While fellow Fever star Kelsey Mitchell has done most of the heavy lifting as a scoring threat, Clark’s sharpshooting and playmaking make the Fever a major threat in the postseason.

Granted, they’re not the team to beat, and there might be some rust to shake off after a long layoff. But after a slow start to the campaign, the Iowa legend has finally turned the corner and taken a much-awaited next step in her game, and the legends are taking notice.
