He looked very uncomfortable and slowly walked away from his fielding position to take a break. He kept shaking his hand, showing clear signs of discomfort, while other players continued their batting practice in the nets in the background.
The cricket board has not released any official statement about his fitness yet, but fans are hoping that Dube’s hand injury is minor and nothing serious.
Shivam Dube, bro please practice a little carefully. You are the only one batsaman performing well in the team right now. If you also get injured, Team India will be in big trouble. pic.twitter.com/8qhAhL6dnN

Shivam Dube Key All-Rounder for India in T20 World Cup 2026
Shivam Dube has been one of India’s key performers in the T20 World Cup 2026. He has scored 158 runs from five matches at an average of 31.60 and a strike rate of 154.90, including one half-century. The left-handed batter is India’s third-highest run-scorer so far.
His best effort came in the group stage against the Netherlands, where he played a match-winning knock of 66 not out. In India’s Super 8 loss to South Africa, Dube scored 42 runs off 37 balls.
Dube has also contributed with the ball, picking up four wickets from three innings. India will face Zimbabwe in their next Super 8 match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Thursday, February 26.
What Is India’s T20 World Cup 2026 Semi-Final Qualification Scenario?
India’s qualification for the T20 World Cup 2026 semi-finals has become very tough after their loss to South Africa. Their net run rate has dropped sharply to -3.80, putting them behind both South Africa (+3.80) and the West Indies (+5.35), who already have two points each.
To stay alive in the tournament, India must win both of their remaining Super 8 matches. They also need South Africa to win their remaining two games. If the West Indies manage even one more victory, India’s chances of qualifying could almost disappear.
After facing Zimbabwe in their next Super 8 match, India are scheduled to take on the West Indies at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday, March 1.
