A four month international window break is too long for Canada’s Casey Stoney – Equalizer Soccer

Canada was back on the pitch this week for an international friendly against Costa Rica. Casey Stoney’s squad was able to deliver a dominating 6-0 road win over Costa Rica thanks to a Janine Sonis hat-trick which featured a pair of second half penalty conversions.

Canada’s training preparations ahead of their lone June match in the FIFA international window offered Stoney a rare opportunity to get her team back together ahead of a lengthy absence.

The next FIFA window will take place in the fall between October 5-13, 2026.
