One day after sharing news of an injury on her personal social media page, the Brazilian Federation announced that Dudinha suffered a torn ACL injury in its June 9 match against the United States.

Dudinha was substituted out of the match in the 33rd minute and replaced with Bia Zaneratto.

The Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) shared the following statement, translated using Google Translate: “CBF reports that athlete Dudinha underwent tests this Wednesday (10) and was diagnosed with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee, associated with a meniscal injury.”

“The athlete has already begun treatment with the Brazilian National Team’s medical department, with surgery scheduled and continued clinical follow-up and monitoring in conjunction with the medical department of her club, San Diego Wave. The CBF wishes the athlete strength and a speedy recovery.”

Dudinha, 20, signed with the San Diego Wave of the National Women’s Soccer League in July 2025. Since joining the club, she has made 20 starts in 23 appearances, scoring 10 goals. Before coming to the United States, Dudinha — who has 11 appearances for the senior Brazilian women’s national team — began her career with São Paulo.

At the time of publishing, San Diego has not put out an official statement on Dudinha’s injury.
