One of the great things about Hunters in World of Warcraft, is that they can tame a number of awesome Raid and Dungeon bosses as pets. This has expanded in recent years, with The War Within adding access to Gorillas, Undead Gorillas, Chimeric Hydras and even Skeletal Devilsaurs. Some are Horde and Alliance specific, and others require a specific talent or book.
This list could change in the future, but below, you’ll find every boss from raids and dungeons that can be tamed in World of Warcraft as your Hunter pet. Just remember you need available space in your active stable, and to dismiss your current pets first!
All Raid and Dungeon bosses tameable as Hunter pets in World of Warcraft
There are quite a few fantastic Raid and Dungeon bosses you can tame these days in World of Warcraft as Hunter pets. However, it’s worth noting that these aren’t stronger in any way, shape, or form. This is simply to get really cool looks for your Hunter to match your aesthetic, or for an animal type that you prefer.

Some are also Exotic, which require you to be a Beast Mastery spec Hunter. If you want an Undead Dinosaur, you need the Simple Tome of Bone-Binding, unless you’re an Undead Hunter in World of Warcraft.
If you need the Tome, head to Plaguefall and Theater of Pain in Maldraxus and kill the Elites in hopes that it drops. I prefer to play an Undead Hunter, so I never have to return to Shadowlands ever again. If there’s an asterisk next to it, it’s an Exotic Pet. If there are other requirements, I’ll list those as well.

Dungeon Bosses
- Raigonn (Gate of the Setting Sun)*

There are so many other tameable pets as a Hunter in World of Warcraft, including T’zala and Rezan, which are popular (Armored Ravasaur, Skeletal Devilsaur respectfully). However, these are Elites, and not bosses. As the game grows, we’ll no doubt get more of these.
Another great thing about all of these bosses, all of them can be soloed as a Hunter in World of Warcraft. The only one that might be difficult is Magmorax, because it’s in Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible. That may require better gear, since it’s only two expansions old.
My Hunter can’t tame it yet, because my Undead Hunter is only level 70. That said, the above list should give you tons of choices, when it comes to awesome pets to add to your stable.
Other World of Warcraft bosses on this list, like Elegon and Anzu drop incredibly cool mounts, so it’s worth it to let them respawn after taming them, to try and pick up extra mounts for your collection (unless you already have them).
