“It’s possible it’s already happened”: Insider makes surprising claim on Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce wedding vows 1 week ahead of rumored MSG wedding

Ahead of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s publicized wedding, speculations are making the rounds that the couple may have exchanged vows before the wedding. The celebrity couple are set to host invitees to a massive ceremony at Madison Square Garden on July 3.

A Page Six report quoted an insider saying that the couple probably took their vows already.

“I think it’s possible it’s already happened,” the insider said.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the global pop icon officially engaged last August, announcing their commitment in a joint Instagram post. Initial reports billed their wedding to hold at the singer’s 11,000-square-foot Rhode Island estate. The venue is popular for hosting her lavish Fourth of July bashes.

However, the venue has since been moved to Madison Square Garden to accommodate the massive guest list. The wedding was scheduled to avoid any interference with the Chiefs’ offseason schedule and ensure Travis Kelce‘s availability.

The July 3 date fits perfectly between the June minicamp and the start of training camp later in July. To further ensure the tight end doesn’t miss any vital preparation ahead of the season, the couple are postponing their multi-week honeymoon.

Travis Kelce’s commitment to a Chiefs return

Travis Kelce signed an extension with the Chiefs earlier this offseason sealing his return for a 14th NFL season. The deal was initially reported to extend his stay for another three years and was valued up to $57.7 million.

However, careful scrutiny revealed a carefully drafted contract that essentially operates as a fully guaranteed one-year, $12 million deal. It also includes $3 million in additional performance incentives.

The Chiefs invoked a CBA loophole known as the ‘Deion Rule’ to navigate a tight salary cap. They did this by tacking on two dummy years in 2027 and 2028 with league-minimum salaries. They also attached a $40 million ‘poison-pill’ guarantee that vests next June.

Travis Kelce will be hoping to earn a top-performing season to close out his NFL career. The tight end wrapped up his 2025 campaign with 76 catches, 851 receiving yards, and five touchdowns.

The drop in Kelce’s numbers cannot be disconnected from Patrick Mahomes‘ poor output and eventual injury. The quarterback suffered a torn ACL in a Week 15 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, missing the final four games of the season. The Chiefs’ 6-11 finish indicates the overall state of the team.
