The first chapter of the LeBron James 2026 offseason saga seems to have closed, with the NBA’s all-time leading scorer informing the Los Angeles Lakers he plans to sign elsewhere for next season.
The most likely landing spot for LeBron appears to be Golden State, where he is reportedly willing to take a discount to team up with Steph Curry (and possibly reunite with Anthony Davis) for his 24th NBA campaign.
James played 60 games in his eighth and final season in Purple and Gold, starting the season on the shelf while dealing with sciatica and averaging 20.9 points, 7.2 assists and 6.1 rebounds-per-game in a career-low 33.2 minutes-per-game. But with the Lakers now building officially around Luka Doncic, James has decided to finish his career elsewhere.
