Prominent Death Riders member dealing with visa issues; AEW future uncertain

A member of The Death Riders who recently signed with AEW has been missing from the Tony Khan-led company’s programming for some time. It has now been revealed that the absence of Gabe Kidd, the star in question, is due to visa issues.

Gabe Kidd had been making appearances on All Elite Wrestling programming since he aligned himself with The Death Riders last year. Earlier this year, he was reunited in the Jacksonville-based company with his Bullet Club War Dogs stable-mates, Clark Connors and David Finlay. The group, who are now going by The Dogs, captured the AEW World Trios Championships from Mistico and JetSpeed in early April, but days later were unseated for the belts by The Conglomeration at Dynasty 2026.

Kidd reportedly sustained an injury at the PPV, which sidelined him for some time. However, last month, the “Mad Man” made his comeback at NJPW Dominion, attacking newly crowned IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion Shota Umino. At NJPW’s Road to G1 Climax show on July 6, he dethroned The Roughneck for the IWGP Global Title. However, Kidd has not appeared on AEW TV in person for some time now.

While appearing on Tony Schiavone’s What Happened When podcast recently, broadcast personality Alex Marvez revealed that Gabe Kidd’s All Elite Wrestling return has been delayed by visa issues, which supposedly prevented the star from being involved in Forbidden Door 2026. He also praised the up-and-comer’s physique and mindset and compared his style as a performer to that of the late “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer.

“And I cannot wait till Gabe returns to AEW by the way. Not a secret, some visa issues right now keeping him from our company, kept him from Forbidden Door. When he is back.. He is absolutely fantastic shape, his mindset has never been better. And I just feel like this is just someone who is such a budding superstar. I really do. You know who he gives me a little vibe of? Little Buzz Sawyer like, with him. I just feel like [he] sort of has that… unhinged type of element to him.” said Marvez.

Gabe Kidd is involved with two factions in AEW.

In a video package on the July 2 edition of Collision, Gabe Kidd made it clear that he was not only a member of The Dogs, but that he, along with David Finlay and Clark Connors, was also associated closely with The Death Riders. Later on that episode, the “100 Proof” star and The Savage King joined Jon Moxley’s stable in delivering a post-match beatdown on Adam Copeland and The Bang Bang Gang.

This week on AEW Dynamite, The Dogs once again ambushed Cope and Christian Cage after their win over Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta. However, they were eventually chased away by Jay White and the Collision Cowboys. It remains to be seen whether Gabe Kidd will join the fray against The Switchblade and his faction when he returns.
