One of the more intriguing storylines to follow during NFL training camp was expected to be the Las Vegas Raiders quarterback battle between veteran Kirk Cousins and No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza.
While there still may be competition through training camp, Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak made it clear Tuesday as to who his starting quarterback will be.
Kirk Cousins is the Raiders starting quarterback
““When we go out to practice tomorrow, Kirk Cousins is the starting quarterback,” Kubiak said via NFL insider Ian Rappoport. “He’s the guy, and he deserves it because he’s played really good football.”
Cousins signed a five-year, $172 million contract with Las Vegas in the offseason that is really just a one-year, $20 million deal with a club option for $$80 million for the following two years.
