Once again, Mike Dunleavy and the Golden State Warriors failed to land their primary target.
The Warriors’ general manager hasn’t been as efficient as his predecessor at getting deals done, resulting in an aging, brittle roster.
However, there’s always another opportunity to right a wrong and get Stephen Curry the help he so clearly needs and, more importantly, deserves.
According to NBA insider Marc J. Spears, the Warriors can still trade for another star, but not now. Talking on 92.5 The Game’s “Willard and Dibs,” he claimed they might be more active at the trade deadline.
Warriors might make some moves at the trade deadline
“Maybe for Warriors fans, the best thing to do is to be patient. To see what happens at the trade deadline,” Spears said. “See where the team is. It’s not about today. It’s about the end of next season. I know they want it to be changed now. But I think for Dunleavy, the way their roster is built and what they have now, I think the patient, try to make some big moves at the trade deadline. It might be, to me, the better route to go.”
