Rangers head into the 2026/27 season looking to close the gap on their Scottish Premiership rivals, with 49ers Enterprises continuing to back the club in the transfer market following their takeover.

It’s been a summer shaped more by free transfers and smaller fees than a marquee statement signing, with those at Ibrox instead focused on adding experience and depth as Derek McInnes makes it an objective to instil a homegrown spine through the side.

New Rangers Signings 2026/27

Ivor Pandur arrives from Hull City to challenge for the goalkeeping jersey, while Vanja Dragojevic joins from Partizan Belgrade for around £4m as a young defensive midfield option.

Ross McCrorie completes a return to Scottish football from Bristol City for around £1m. The 2-cap Scotland man started his career in the Ibrox academy.

Dan Neil, Lawrence Shankland and Cammy Devlin have all joined on free transfers, with Shankland already picked out by McInnes as the club’s new captain.

Ben Godfrey has joined on loan from Atalanta, adding Premier League experience to the Rangers defence.

Rangers Departures 2026/27

Oliver Antman has left for Belgian side Anderlecht in search of more playing time, while Jack Butland has returned to English football to join newly promoted Hull City for around £3m, replacing Pandur.

Ben Davies and Leon King have both left on free transfers, joining Bolton and Ayr United respectively. Long-serving captain James Tavernier has been released after his contract expired, and Kieran Wright has also departed as a free agent.

Danilo has joined Botafogo on loan, while Bailey Rice has gone out on loan to Kilmarnock.

Rangers’ record signing is Tore Andre Flo, who joined from Chelsea in 2000 for a fee of £12m – a record that has stood for more than two decades.

The Norwegian striker scored on his debut against Celtic and would go on to net 38 goals in all competitions before being sold to Sunderland in 2002.

Who is Rangers’ Record Sale?

Rangers’ record sale is Calvin Bassey, sold to Ajax in 2022 for £19.6m.

Signed for a small fee due to cross-border transfer rules, Bassey became a key part of Rangers’ Europa League final run in 2021/22 before Ajax made their move, netting the Gers a huge profit in the process.

The centre-back made 65 appearances all in all for the Gers, scoring once.
