Falcons’ QB situation looks bleak after Tua Tagovailoa’s performance vs. Broncos

The Atlanta Falcons brought in quarterback Tua Tagovailoa this offseason as an insurance plan for Michael Penix Jr., who the team planned on being the franchise signal-caller. While that may end up being the case still, the 2024 first-round pick has a concerning injury history that reared its ugly head once again last season.

Penix Jr. is still recovering from a partially torn ACL he suffered in November of last year and hasn’t been able to take any contact during practices.

Tagovailoa got the start in Atlanta’s first preseason game against the Denver Broncos since the young quarterback is still recovering, but his performance was concerning, to say the least.
