Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Andy Pages will miss significant time after X-rays revealed a fracture in his left hand following Friday night’s 5-4 walk-off victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Pages sustained the injury when Pirates right-hander Bubba Chandler hit him on the back of his left hand with a 100.2 mph sinker in the third inning at Dodger Stadium. The 25-year-old initially remained in the game and advanced to third base before playing center field in the fourth.
Enrique Hernandez replaced Pages before the fifth inning. The Dodgers initially announced that Pages had suffered a left-hand contusion, but postgame testing revealed a more serious injury.
Orange County Register reporter Bill Plunkett shared manager Dave Roberts’ update postgame on X, formerly Twitter, reporting the results of Pages’ X-rays.
