    xQc says Ring cameras are worse than Flock cameras, goes off at people critical of AI, data centers, and surveillance

    Streamer xQc recently spoke about how Ring cameras are worse than Flock cameras in terms of privacy and surveillance. He also criticized people for calling out AI and data centers, suggesting they are not as bad as people make the technology out to be. Ring cameras are typically privately owned, while Flock cameras are used by police, HOAs, neighborhoods, businesses, and schools.

    Describing his issue with Ring cameras, Felix “xQc” claimed that this mode of surveillance is “worse” for privacy:

    “Ring cameras point directly at private property, right? And at public property. Why do you get mad about some **** pointing at public property when Ring cameras are worse by a massive margin? Ring cameras are absolutely worse.”

    Felix then pulled up MS Paint and drew a diagram of a street and some buildings, trying to show that Ring cameras cover multiple direct angles at “all times.” He then used green to indicate that Flock cameras cover fewer angles, thereby allowing for more privacy.

    Users on the r/LivestreamFail subreddit reacted, with some suggesting that they were not surprised by the streamer’s take:

    Felix also addressed the “super braindead, anti-data centre, anti-AI, anti-Flock” demographic, saying:

    “The reason that they are malding about all the ****ing… Like the super braindead, anti-data centre, anti-AI, anti-Flock whatever… Buddy, just say you’re ****ing braindead. It’s a few words. Say, ‘I am ****ing re**rded. I am very much challenged in the brain; I can’t think. I can’t see. I’m ****ing stupid as bricks, and it’s causing me to say the things I say.’ Just say it; it’s only a few words.”

    In other news, xQc responded to claims that he “tells fake stories” about growing up poor, saying his family “moved to a pretty medium-low-class spot.”
