Manchester United have turned their attention towards former Chelsea star Ian Maatsen after a failed pursuit of Lewis Hall this summer, as per reports. The Red Devils are still in the market for reinforcements ahead of a season back in the UEFA Champions League under Michael Carrick.
According to transfer expert Pete O’Rourke, Manchester United are interested in Aston Villa man Ian Maatsen and have made an enquiry about possibly bringing him in. They have not tested Villa’s resolve with a bid for the Netherlands international, but a move is unlikely at this stage of the window.
Thanks for the submission!
Former Chelsea man Lewis Hall was viewed as the main left-back target for Carrick’s side this summer, but Newcastle have managed to keep hold of him as a key player. The England international has played all three of their games so far this season and is in line for a new contract at St. James’ Park.
Manchester United are interested in Maatsen, another Chelsea alumnus, after observing his development as an Aston Villa player. Villa have lost a good number of their key stars this summer, meaning that a move for the 24-year-old is likely impossible, for them.
The Dutchman will be their starting left-back for the campaign, replacing Lucas Digne, who has left for Paris Saint-Germain. They brought in Matteo Ruggeri to provide cover for Maatsen, who has four years left on his contract at Villa Park.
The Red Devils have also been linked to Barcelona star Alejandro Balde and Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly this summer, but both players seem content to stay put at their clubs. They have Harry Amass on their books, and the 19-year-old will likely deputise for Luke Shaw at left-back if no signings are made.
Chelsea outcast offered to Manchester United in surprise twist: Reports
Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo has been offered to Premier League rivals Manchester United in a late summer move, as per reports. The 28-year-old is set to leave Stamford Bridge after Xabi Alonso made it clear that he does not fancy him, and he is in search of a new home.
According to GiveMeSport, intermediaries have offered the Red Devils the opportunity to bring in former Fulham man Tosin this summer. They are on the lookout for possible central defensive reinforcements to provide depth for the new season.
Both clubs have done business already this summer, with Andrey Santos swapping Stamford Bridge for Old Trafford in July. A move for Tosin remains a possibility in the final 48 hours of the summer transfer window.
