The Brazilian Alison Dos Santos set this Thursday the world record in the 400 meters hurdles with 45.80 at the Zurich Diamond League (Switzerland). Alison Dos Santos, world champion in Eugene (United States) in 2022 and holder of two Diamond League rings, broke the world record that previously stood at 45.94 by Norwegian Karsten Warholm since August 3, 2021 in Tokyo.

The American Masai Russell, with 12.09, also achieved the world record in the 100 meters hurdles at the Letzigrund stadium, improving by three hundredths the 12.12 that Nigerian Tobi Amusan had held since July 24, 2022.
