The EFL Championship returns with a fresh set of fixtures as Sheffield United and Bolton Wanderers square off at Bramall Lane on Tuesday. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since February 2019, when the Blades secured a 2-0 victory on home turf.
Sheffield United were denied their first win of the new Championship campaign on Saturday when they played out a 2-2 draw with Cardiff City after giving up their lead at Cardiff City Stadium.
Thanks for the submission!
The Blades have played out three stalemates in their opening three league matches, but victories over Mansfield Town and Blackburn Rovers have seen them book their spot in the third round of the EFL Cup.
Sheffield United will be backing themselves to get off the mark on Tuesday when they take on an opposing side who have lost four of their last five meetings, with a narrow 1-0 victory in December 2017 being the exception.
Elsewhere, Bolton Wanderers were made to rue their wasteful display in front of goal at the weekend when they fell to a 1-0 loss against Lincoln City, with Ben House netting in the 66th minute at the Toughsheet Community Stadium to sink the hosts.
Steven Schumacher’s men have failed to win three of their first four games across all competitions this term, claiming one draw and losing twice, including a 1-0 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday in the EFL Cup first round on August 8.
Having secured promotion from League One last season, when they secured a 4-1 victory over Stockport County in May’s playoff final, Bolton Wanderers are making their return to the Championship for the first time since going down in the 2018-19 campaign.

Bolton have struggled to find their feet this season, claiming just one win from their four matches across all competitions, and we fancy Sheffield to make the most of their home advantage here.
