Following her monumental title win earlier tonight at AEW All In 2026, Mercedes Moné has just given an update on her condition. During the match, she ended up being busted open and took a bit of punishment throughout the contest.
Tonight featured the fourth installment in the feud between the CEO and Willow Nightingale, and the stakes were at their highest with the AEW Women’s World title being on the line. It was a tough contest for both women as Willow competed despite having a broken hand, while Moné was busted open during the early stages of the contest. The physicality between them was immense.
While speaking during the All In post-show media scrum, Mercedes Moné revealed that she barely had time to take in her win as she had to get stitches for her broken nose. The battle scars from her match were clearly seen during the interview as she went through a war with her long-time rival.
“I haven’t even had time to process winning this. I was so focused on taking Willow’s smile and ending her career. I finally get to look at [the title] because straight after the match I had to go to the doctor to get stitches for my nose that she broke.“
She expressed her dismay as the injury occurred right at the beginning of the match and clearly played a part in the struggle she had to face just to pull off the win. Mercedes knew that they both left it all in the ring, but it was she who ended up on top.
“Right at the f**king beginning. Me and Willow have had it out for each other since the day that we met. Today, all of our emotions, frustrations, and history was right there in the ring. We gave it our all to each other. She legit beat my a** all over the ring, but I beat her harder.” [H/T Fightful]
A returning star is already interested in Mercedes Moné’s world title
During the AEW All In Buy-In pre-show, Thekla made her highly anticipated return to the promotion after she went on a hiatus for a month following her loss to Willow Nightingale at Redemption. She immediately set her sights on the world title, as she was looking to win it back in no time.
She sent a message to both Willow and Mercedes Moné, putting them on notice. The Toxic Spider was even seated at the royal box for the show, keeping a close eye on the results of the women’s world title match.
With Mercedes Moné being crowned as the new AEW Women’s World Champion, it won’t be long before Thekla goes after her. They have been hinting at this collision course for some time now, and now that Mercedes is the champion, their feud is inevitable.
