With the transfer deadline arriving at 8am (AEST) – that’s 11pm in the UK – a number of major deals for some of football’s biggest names remain up in the air.
One that isn’t is Enzo Fernandez, with the wantaway Chelsea midfielder transferred to Manchester City for a British record transfer fee of £125 million ($236 million).

The deal equals what Liverpool paid Newcastle for striker Alexander Isak 12 months ago.
Fernandez, who became a World Cup villain after a red card late in the final left Argentina down a man in extra time, will link up with former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, with the deal to be finalised once he completes a medical.
Not all transfers have been so smooth sailing, though; US star Folarin Balogun, who was at the centre of his own World Cup controversy when FIFA sensationally overturned his red card suspension for Team USA’s round of 16 clash with Belgium, has faced a last-minute hiccup in his move to Everton.
According to reports from France, the Monaco striker, who has been in Merseyside ahead of the deal going through, failed a medical to suddenly throw the transfer into jeopardy.
Sky Sports have reported that Everton have Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee as a back-up should the Balogun deal, reportedly worth £40 million ($75.6 million) collapse.
