Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski opened Tuesday night with an electric performance against the Chicago Cubs at American Family Field. He reminded fans why his elite velocity made him one of the most dynamic pitchers in baseball.
In the top of the first inning, Misiorowski struck out the Cubs’ $115M star Pete Crow-Armstrong, who signed a six-year contract extension this March, with a 104 mph fastball. It was Misiorowski’s fourth and final regular-season start against the Cubs. Moments after, fans flooded social media reacting to the play, comparing and talking about two stars facing each other on the field.

“Owns that fraud.”
“Overpowered him (Pete Crow-Armstrong).”
“This guy was built in a lab.”
“104, it’s just nasty🔥”
“This is where the titans clash. #PCA”
“Lotta ppl never even been in a car going 103.7 mph”
However, Jacob Misiorowski didn’t just stop at a 104 mph fastball; he climbed higher on the radar gun, touching 104.5 mph against Seiya Suzuki later in the inning. While the Cubs also scored, the 24-year-old pitcher overpowered Chicago’s lineup with a blazing performance.
Misiorowski also threw a 105.5 mph fastball to Pete Crow-Armstrong during his first start against the Cubs on June 26. According to Statcast, it was tied for the third-fastest fastball tracked since the pitch-tracking era.
Brewers teammates back Jacob Misiorowski amid demanding season
Milwaukee Brewers catcher William Contreras talked about his teammate Jacob Misiorowski and his performance this season. He emphasized the physical and mental toll that people often fail to see and how hard it is to still perform at an elite level in a long MLB season.
“It’s where I always say, people outside of baseball don’t understand baseball. You don’t understand what it’s like to go through a 6-7 month season,” William Contreras said.
“You don’t understand the physical part of it, the tiredness that comes along with that, the mental side of it and staying engaged mentally once it comes to this part of the season. People outside of it just don’t understand that.”
Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff also echoed the same sentiment, saying it is “almost unfair” to expect Misiorowski to deliver at an elite level every time he takes the mound. He said that what Misiorowski has done this season has been phenomenal.
