Arsenal have entered contention to sign Liverpool star Rio Ngumoha, and could make a move if he is unable to establish himself in Andoni Iraola’s starting XI.
The winger is still very young, at just 18-years-old, but he has started to make an impact at first-team level, picking up two goals and one assist in 19 Premier League appearances last season.
Even when the youngster was unable to get on the scoresheet, he managed to impress, with former Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge lauding him for his performance in a 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest in February.
Max Dowman is an admirer too, lauding his England youth teammate as “the best” after he scored a dramatic late winner against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park last August.
However, the London-born winger has thus far been unable to kick on so far this season, featuring for just 100 minutes across three appearances in the Premier League, having been unable to displace the likes of Bradley Barcola and Victor Munoz in the starting XI.
The Liverpool starlet is a left-winger by trade, which means it could be difficult to force his way into the side, given that the Reds broke their transfer record when they brought in Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer.
Mikel Arteta, on the other hand, is more well-stocked on the right-wing, and could perhaps do with another player capable of playing on the left after losing both Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal enter contention to sign Rio Ngumoha
According to journalist Alan Nixon (via Dave OCKop), Arsenal now have a growing interest in signing Ngumoha, and they are tracking the young winger’s situation at Anfield, with a view to making a move.
If the teenager is unable to hold down a consistent place in the starting XI on the left, the Gunners could swoop in to secure his signature.
The 11-cap England U19 international’s current contract is set to expire in 2028, which means the Reds could be at risk of losing him, although Paul Joyce revealed they were close to agreeing an extension back in August.
