Shawn Fonteno, famously known for playing Franklin in GTA V, collaborated with Twitch streaming sensation Kai Cenat in late 2024. During the stream, Kai and Shawn visited a family who, according to Shawn in a recent Dope As Usual Podcast episode, “didn’t have much at all,” with “15 people living in a one-bedroom home.
After entering the house, Kai met a little boy and said he would buy him a “dirt bike”:
“(‘What you want?.. You want a dirt bike? What type of dirt bike you want?’ asked Kai Cenat) Any dirt bike (‘What’s your name?’) Zion, I’m 7. Hey, [Shawn], remind me to get him a dirt bike… I gotchu….”
Shawn Fonteno was right by Kai’s side as this exchange happened. Now, nearly two years after the incident, Shawn claims the streamer’s promise was never fulfilled, alleging that Kai never bought the child a dirt bike:
“I persisted in calling after we finished and our night was over with. I let about a week go by and tried to call and text, [saying], ‘Hey man, you know, honor that [promise] with this kid, bro.’ It was just a bike, you know…”

Shawn added, saying Kai Cenat made him “look bad”:
“But you gave this kid that promise, and now you’re making me look bad. You know what I’m saying? Because I brought you here and you gave this kid that promise.”
Overall, Shawn said that because of Kai failing to keep his word with the child, he would “never do another stream with him again.”
Shawn Fonteno calls out Fanum and Kai Cenat’s “crew” for being “culture vultures”
In an attempt to get through to Kai Cenat, Shawn reached out to Kai’s fellow AMP crew member, Roberto “Fanum,” suggesting Kai should do good on his promise, but was ignored:
“So, I brought it up to his people, you know, Fanum… ‘Cuz me and Fanum was dealing with each other…. I said, ‘Hey, bro. Kai should get that bike for this kid, man. It’ll just look good, bro, with him coming back with the bike and gifting this kid. It’ll mean the world to this kid, man, in the situation they’re living in, bro,’ and he just ignored me, bro.”
Then, addressing Kai Cenat’s “crew,” Shawn used the term “culture vultures”:
“His whole crew, they just [are] almost like culture vultures. You know what I’m saying?”
Finally, he looked straight into the camera lens, calling out Kai:
“I’m standing on it, man. I look at any one of these cameras. Bro, you’re a ****ed up dude, bro, for that. To me, you’re a very ****ed up dude. I don’t give a **** how you feel about it.”
In other news, Kai Cenat addressed rumors about him getting together with his ex-girlfriend, saying, “Gigi is single; I’m single.”
