NFL analyst Albert Breer might have gotten himself on the wrong side of NHL fans after one of his recent takes on hockey vs. football. In a post on Elon Musk-owned X, Breer compared the physicality and toughness of hockey players and footballers.
On X, an account named Shark Memes seemingly mocked Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, who recently sustained a grade 1 hamstring injury. The account compared Williams’ injury to Kyle Palmieri’s ACL tear and appreciated the latter for playing through injury and getting an assist.
The post gained a lot of traction on X, and Albert Breer quote-tweeted it and shared his take. While Breer said hockey players are tough, he also added that the toughness of hockey players and footballers can’t be compared.
“Hockey players are tough and all, but let’s not pretend the physicality of the two sports is comparable. It isn’t,” Breer wrote.
Breer’s post quickly received a lot of flak from NHL fans on social media. One user commented under Breer’s post and wrote that playing quarterback is not as physical as playing hockey.
“Youre right, playing QB is way less physical than playing hockey,” the user wrote.

NFL analyst Albert Breer quote-tweeted NBC10 Boston’s coverage of the incident and wrote that if a power ranking for crazy parents existed, then hockey parents would rank number one.
