AEW is the second-biggest wrestling promotion in the USA. The company has been doing an incredible job with its pay-per-views and weekly shows, and fans are excited about its future. However, a major report suggests something may go wrong with the company down the line.
All Elite Wrestling airs on TBS and TNT in the USA, and it is simulcast on HBO Max. It is part of the company’s multi-year deal with Warner Bros. Discovery. However, recent corporate shifts may affect AEW’s position in the streaming setup. WBD is set to merge with Paramount Skydance following a billion-dollar deal.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, an undisclosed wrestling company is under a belief that AEW could be in trouble when the WBD and Paramount Skydance merger gets completed. As per the report, the said wrestling company was in talks with Paramount+ for a deal. They were confident that they would get the deal signed until Paramount finalized its UFC deal.
Since then, there have been no talks between the said wrestling company and Paramount. They believe that TKO head Ari Emanuel played a role in all this. As a result, the undisclosed wrestling promotion believes that AEW could be in trouble soon as well due to Emanuel’s potential involvement down the line.
That said, Dave Meltzer also shared his belief that All Elite Wrestling will be able to secure a TV deal regardless of what happens. He noted that the company has a strong weekly show system that will be beneficial for them in the long term. With that said, only time will tell what is in store for the Jacksonville-based promotion from here on.
AEW is set to present its All Out pay-per-view this weekend
All Elite Wrestling is heading to Hoffman Estates, Illinois, for its All Out event. The show will take place at the famous NOW Arena on September 26. Tony Khan and his creative team have done an incredible job in building the hype for the event. The show will feature a stacked lineup of matches from top to bottom.
In the main event, Will Ospreay will defend his All Elite World Championship against Jon Moxley in a singles match. Besides, the AEW World Tag Team Championships will also be on the line in a Three-Way Ladder Match between Cage and Cope, FTR, and Young Bucks.
Apart from those two major matches, eight more matches are on the card, spread across the event. Fans are excited to see what All Elite Wrestling has in store following a banger All In event in London last month.
