The Canary Islands Association of Sports Managers will bring together professionals from across Spain in Tenerife to address the opportunities that new technologies offer the sector. The core themes of the 9th Congress of ACAGEDE (ACAGEDE) will be artificial intelligence, technological innovation, and digital transformation, and the event will take place on October 1-2 in Tenerife. The gathering will feature professionals from various parts of Spain and experts from the Canary Islands. Its aim is to bring knowledge, experiences, and tools to those responsible for public administration, companies, clubs, federations, and other entities involved in sport. The president of ACAGEDE, Noemí Rodríguez, explains that the congress will study how technology can improve internal processes and the user experience. “We want to understand how digital transformation and artificial intelligence can help us improve processes, make them more productive and efficient, and ensure that all this work translates into a better experience for users”, she says.
Practical Applications for Sports Management
The congress will address digitalization from a practical perspective. Among other topics, it will analyze its application in the management of sports facilities, planning, user support, decision-making, and the optimization of available resources. These tools can benefit both large administrations and clubs, federations, gyms, and smaller companies. The challenge will be to ensure that all organizations can move toward a more effective working model tailored to the sector’s new needs. Rodríguez emphasizes, however, that technology should complement rather than replace personal attention: “Direct contact with people will remain fundamental. The face-to-face relationship with the user will never cease to be an essential value”. The congress will also consider the degree of modernization necessary to respond to the economic, social, and infrastructure challenges currently facing sports management. The 9th ACAGEDE Congress is sponsored by the Tenerife Island Council, the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Vice-Ministry of Physical Activity and Sports, and the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
