After a first-round bye, third seed Alexandra Eala will take on Tatiana Prozorova in the second round of the Singapore Tennis Open 2026.
Eala started the season with a semifinal showing in Auckland but lost in the first round of the Australian Open. She wrapped up the early hardcourt swing with a quarterfinal showing at the Dubai Open, followed by fourth-round finishes at the Indian Wells Open and the Miami Open.

Prozorova found herself on the backfoot in the second set as well. However, this time she recovered from a break down to force a tie-break, and then outplayed Costoulas in the tie-break to take the set. She raised her level even further in the third set and broke Costoulas’ serve twice to secure a 5-7, 7-6 (2), 6-2 comeback win.
