Adam Copeland is a wrestling legend. The WWE Hall of Famer is currently signed to AEW, where he is allied with Christian Cage. Copeland and Cage won the AEW World Tag Team Titles earlier this year, but the Young Bucks dethroned them in a three-way ladder match at All Out 2026. The Rated-R Superstar recently paid tribute to his tag team partner.
Adam Copeland returned to Canada after nearly six months and wrestled Steve Maclin at MLP Northern Rising. This was the veteran’s debut in Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling. Cope vs. Maclin was an excellent showdown, which the former TNT Champion ultimately won after a lot of effort. Interestingly, Cope paid tribute to Christian Cage during this bout.
The former Edge delivered a Killswitch on his opponent during Northern Rising. The Killswitch is Captain Charisma’s finisher. This was an unexpected and amazing moment, and fans in attendance gave a thunderous reaction.
Cope and Cage held the WWE World Tag Team Championship seven times and the AEW World Tag Team Championship once. They are best friends in real life and one of the greatest tag teams of all time.
AEW star Adam Copeland on why wrestling venues are important
The Daily Face Off And Sheet recently interviewed Copeland. The veteran spoke about the importance of wrestling venues in this conversation. The former champion said that venues have immense sentimental value for wrestlers. He is very attached to Maple Leaf Gardens.
“I think because if you find yourself in a position or if you’ve chosen this career, whatever that career is, and if it’s in sporting or entertainment, chances are part of the reason you fell in love with it is where it happened. For me, the first wrestling show I saw live was at Maple Leaf Gardens, and when I would try and go as many times as I could, it was Maple Leaf Gardens, and then I was also watching the Leafs in Maple Leaf Gardens. So Maple Leaf Gardens became the thread that stitched the quilt of what my childhood was together.” he said. [H/T: Fightful]
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Adam Copeland. Hopefully, he and Cage will recapture the World Tag Team Titles soon.
