The ‘MLB save leaders since 2008’ quiz

After recording a career-high 41 saves in the 2026 regular season, Tampa Bay Rays closer Bryan Baker looked like he might be losing control after five-straight balls in the bottom of the ninth in Game 3 of the ALDS against the Yankees. But a well-timed mound visit was followed by a Jazz Chisholm Jr. fielder’s choice, a strikeout of Trent Grisham and a second Rays celebration at Yankee stadium in 15 days.

Tampa was the best team in the American League for the vast majority of the season, and after sweeping the Yankees are just four wins away from advancing to the franchise’s third World Series.

Baker – who made his first All-Star game this year at 31 – has been nails for Tampa all season long. He made 65 total appearances and finished 52 games to go with this 41 saves, posting a 1.44 ERA with 63 strikeouts and just 22 walks in 62 1/3 innings.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Baker’s 41 saves were tied for the most in all of baseball this season. With that being said, can you name the pitchers to lead the MLB in saves for each season since 2008?

    Good luck!
