Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has been shortlisted for this year’s men’s Ballon d’Or award after his mightily impressive year.
The 22-year-old was an integral part of a Gunners side who competed with Manchester City for the Premier League title last season.
He was a key man in the Gunners’ attack, scoring 15 goals and assisting a further 11 across all competitions last term.
Saka has also kicked off the new season with a bang, having already netted twice and assisted twice in Arsenal’s opening five games.
The winger was named as England men’s Player of the Year for the second year in a row on Tuesday and now he has been nominated for the biggest individual prize that world football has to offer.
Saka was shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy last year, which is given to the best preforming player aged 21 and under.

The 22-year-old is now in contention for the main title that’s currently held by Karim Benzema, and Arsenal fans on social media have been loving the news.
Taking to X, one supporter said: “Congratulations to our star boy. We’re coming for the Ballon d’Or next season.
“Future Ballon d’Or winner,” added a hopeful second.
A third said: “Star Boy Saka! They know he is special. He will win it next season! Thanks in advance.”
“Congrats Bukayo Saka! You deserve it! We are so proud of you and all your accomplishments. Keep up the great work!” a joyful fourth said.
Saka’s Arsenal teammate Martin Odegaard is also named in the prestigious list, with Aaron Ramsdale nominated for the Yashin Trophy that’s awarded for the best goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, Arsenal stars Katie McCabe and Amanda Ilestedt are also in contention to win the Women’s Ballon d’Or.
