Saka receives injury boost as Arteta shares update after winger limped off

Bukayo Saka was forced off against Manchester City, but he’s avoided serious injury.

The England international limped off with nearly 15 minutes to go against City at the Etihad Stadium on Easter Sunday.

An Arsenal physio had to escort Saka off as he held his leg and did not look happy as Gabriel Martinelli replaced him.

However, Mikel Arteta shared a positive update on the England man ahead of the Gunners’ game against Luton.

He said: “He just went out today with fatigue, nothing serious”.

This is big for Arsenal with some crucial games coming up in the Premier League and Champions League.

The 22-year-old has been one of Arsenal’s most key players this season as they look to end the year with silverware.

Saka has only missed one game in the Premier League for the north London side this campaign.

In 37 appearances in all competitions, the winger has scored 16 goals and assisted 13 times as well.

While Arsenal could not find a win at the Etihad, a draw is by no means a bad result and keeps them second in the Premier League.

Liverpool had earlier taken the lead in the battle for the title after coming from behind to beat Brighton at Anfield.

But it is still tight at the top with three points separating third-placed City and Liverpool.
