The worst kept secret of the NBA Draft went public. The Los Angeles Lakers used the 55th pick to select Bronny James, the son of LeBron James. For the first time in history, a father and son could share a locker room in the NBA.
Bronny, who in his only season in the NCAA playing at the University of South California, averaged 4.8 points, with 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in just 25 games, achieves a milestone. Never in the history of the draft has a freshman, a first-year player, been chosen with those numbers.
In Bronny’s favor is his physique, despite being somewhat short, being fast and strong for the guard position. Being just 6-2, it’s hard to imagine James playing any position other than point guard, although he’s still not a great playmaker or ball handler. There is room for improvement, but he will spend a lot of time with the affiliated team, the South Bay Lakers in the G-League.

Savannah posted the teary-eye emojis, very emotional after the news, and in the past, LeBron James has mentioned that his wife has been the rock in the James family for years, so it is understanble the fact that this was a very emotional moment for her.
He said she’s been the most important factor in holding the family together, especially with so much pressure and attention toward the James name. Even if Bronny’s selection has been criticized for not being a player to use a second rounder, he has overcome all kinds of problems to get here including cardiac arrest. Many believe it is only a matter of time for him to be a factor in Los Angeles.
