ICC slaps India with huge punishment over their act in Raipur ODI vs South Africa

The ICC has found India guilty of breaching the time limit for the innings and has fined the team 10% of their match fees for maintaining a slow over-rate in the second ODI in Raipur. India were under pressure in the game, and bowlers went for repeated conversations with the senior cricketers on the field.

India played the second match of the South Africa ODI series in Raipur. India, despite having scored 358 runs in their batting innings with two magnificent hundreds from Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad, were placed between the grind as the Proteas batters too gathered runs with ease.

During the game, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were constantly seen engaging in discussions alongside the young pacers as well as skipper KL Rahul. Several field changes were also often made, and all this delayed the gap between balls and the overs, which led to the violation of the time limit of the innings.

Alongside the team, the players who were part of the Indian playing XI were also held equally responsible for the delay and hence, were fined five percent of their match fees for every over that the team failed to bowl within the stipulated time.
