“He deserved better” – Drew McIntyre’s brother blasts WWE after shocking title loss to Cody Rhodes on SmackDown

Drew McIntyre’s reign as the Undisputed WWE Champion came to an end after 57 days, as he dropped the title to Cody Rhodes on this week’s episode of SmackDown. After a back-and-forth contest, multiple referee bumps, and an interference by Jacob Fatu, The American Nightmare emerged on top.

McIntyre’s brother, John Galloway, has reacted to his major loss ahead of WrestleMania 42. John penned a heartfelt message for The Scottish Warrior on X and also called out WWE’s booking, posting the famous GIF of Triple H holding a sign saying, “Who booked this crap?”

“Proud of what Drew has achieved off of hard work and an unbeatable work ethic. No politics, no ego, a master of making chicken salad out of chicken shit, he deserved better. He’ll come back stronger, he always does. Keep them heads up. We go again,” he wrote.

    Check out his post below:

Cody Rhodes will now defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton at The Showcase of the Immortals. The Viper won the 2026 Men’s Elimination Chamber Match to earn a title shot.

    What’s next for Drew McIntyre?

When Drew McIntyre won the Undisputed WWE Championship in January, fans were delighted to see him finally getting a proper world title reign in front of a live crowd. However, his run ended up being lackluster.

Besides one title defense against Sami Zayn at the Royal Rumble, the Scotsman’s reign largely revolved around Cody Rhodes. Now, he has dropped the title back to Rhodes ahead of WrestleMania 42.

McIntyre’s road to the Grandest Stage of Them All might lead to him facing Jacob Fatu. The Samoan Werewolf inadvertently helped The Scottish Warrior win the Undisputed WWE Championship in January, and he also became one of the reasons for the Scotsman losing it this week.

It will be interesting to see what’s next for Drew McIntyre after a massive setback on SmackDown.
