AEW is the second biggest wrestling company in the USA after WWE. The Jacksonville-based promotion was founded in 2019. Tony Khan is its president, and they have been thriving under his leadership. Their roster is immensely talented, and it seems like they will end this year on a strong note.
Former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay is one of All Elite Wrestling’s biggest stars. He officially joined the promotion in 2023. So far, he has held the International Title twice, and he is seemingly destined to hold the World Title. He underwent a major neck surgery last year, because of which he was sidelined for months. Nevertheless, he made a stunning return at Revolution 2026, and he looks in amazing shape. He is currently in a storyline with the Death Riders, and fans are anticipating its outcome.
Forbes recently interviewed the Aerial Assassin. In this conversation, the 14-year veteran said that he has seen ups and downs since his comeback. His life post-surgery has been different, and he is trying to learn how to wrestle with a new structure. But overall, he is doing fine.
“Up and down quite a lot of the time. I’m getting by, but it’s still a new thing for me right now. This was the first surgery I’ve ever had, and it turned out to be one of the most major surgeries you could have. It’s still a bit of a learning experience, trying to learn how to wrestle with a new structure, I guess. It’s a challenge, but I’m doing fine,” he said.
AEW star Will Ospreay spoke to Adam Copeland before his surgery
Former AEW TNT Champion Adam Copeland retired in 2011 due to several neck issues. He eventually recovered and returned in 2020. Ospreay spoke extensively with the Rated R Superstar before his surgery. In the interview above, he called the legend the ‘godfather’ of such surgeries.
“Yeah, I spoke with Adam Copeland quite a lot about it, just because I guess he’s kind of the godfather of this surgery. He’s had three of them. I think he’s had a [triple fusion neck surgery],” said the English native.
Only time will tell what the future holds for the Aerial Assassin. Hopefully, he will become the AEW World Champion someday.
