Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Freddie Freeman’s wife, Chelsea, and late NBA legend Kobe Bryant’s widow, Vanessa, have gotten close over the years. After Freeman came to LA in 2022, Chelsea and Vanessa’s paths crossed several times and the two eventually became close friends.
On Tuesday, Chelsea Freeman wished Vanessa Bryant on her birthday. She took to Instagram to share a picture of the pair from her latest baby shower. In the picture, Chelsea is seen wearing a pink dress with floral accessories, while Vanessa is wearing a glittery pink two-piece bodycon set.
“Happy birthday, Vanessa. Truly beautiful both inside and out,” she wrote as caption. “So thankful for your friendship and the blessing you have been this past year.”

The baby shower welcomed Freeman’s fourth child, London. The pink-themed party, in line with the gender reveal, at Beverly Hills featured books, toys and other gifts on a “London’s Library” shelf. The lavish party was also decorated with bright pink flowers and curtains.
Vanessa’s presence at Chelsea’s baby shower was a culmination of various public appearances together. In the last year, the two have celebrated the Dodgers’ playoff success, Vanessa’s daughter, Bianka’s first pitch at Dodger Stadium during the Kobe Bryant bobblehead night, and also hung out as a trio with their friend Nikki Bown.
Freemans welcome the sixth member of the family
On April 19, Freddie and Chelsea Freeman welcomed their first daughter, London Rosemary Joy Freeman. They had announced they were expecting their fourth child via surrogacy months back.
They introduced London to everyone with a heartfelt Instagram post on April 20. In the cover picture, their eldest son, Charlie, was holding his baby sister while his siblings, Brandon and Maximus, lay on the bed beside him. Their parents stood on either side of the bed.
Freddie and Chelsea met fifteen years ago. After three years of dating, they tied the knot in November 2014. Charlie was born in September 2016, Brandon four years later, in December 2020, and Maximus a few months after.
