The Bhoys have got it all to do this summer and whilst they must start with finding a new manager, they’ve still got one eye on the transfer window.

With or without the Scottish Premiership, Celtic are well aware that a major overhaul is needed in the coming months. As Hearts continue to rise and Rangers stay in touching distance on Danny Rohl, they can ill-afford another campaign full of chaos like the last nine months.

What that could mean is the arrival of some impressive names. Soufiane El Faouzi and Motherwell striker Tawanda Maswahise have both already threatened to steal the headlines in recent weeks, and both would be excellent additions.

Maswanhise is particularly one to watch. He would certainly solve Celtic’s striker problem, which has often forced Daizen Maeda out of position and into a frustrating period of form.

But it’s not just their frontline that the Hoops are aiming to improve this summer. According to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, Campbell is now open to joining Celtic if they qualify for the Champions League this season.

Valued at £2.5m, the West Bromwich Albion defender has interest from the Bundesliga, but is open to a move to the Scottish giants on that one condition this summer.

That’s a major boost for the Bhoys, who are on course to enter the Champions League’s second qualifying round by finishing second in the Scottish Premiership ahead of Rangers. And things would get even better if they finish top of the tree and reach the Champions League play-off.

Campbell can replace Liam Scales

It’s not been an easy campaign for Celtic’s backline. They’ve conceded more goals than both Hearts and Rangers, highlighting their biggest problem to solve if they want to reassert their dominance next season.

That’s where Campbell could come in to take the place of Liam Scales in an instant upgrade. The American started 33 of West Brom’s 40 Championship games this season, eventually playing a key part as the Baggies climbed to survival. Now, he could be heading for bigger and better things.

Although Scales tends to perform better in possession, he lacks the aggression that Campbell holds and that aggression could be key for Celtic to dominate Scottish football once again.

The Championship star has plenty to think about, especially if Celtic qualify for the Champions League this season. At 24 years old, the American is at the peak of his powers and could solve one of the Bhoys’ biggest problems.
